Welcome to the family holiday. Here are six tips to avoid unnecessary stress when traveling with kids, courtesy of child psychologist and CEO of raisingkids,co.uk, Dr. Pat Spungin:
- Find a holiday where all ages are catered for and where kids can do their own thing in a safe environment.
- Make sure that some of the activities are activities you can all share.
- Doing ordinary things in different environments can be fun such as shopping at local markets.
- Friends are important to a child’s enjoyment holidays. It always helps if you travel with friends who have children of a similar age.
- Strange places can upset little ones. Bring something that reminds them of home, like a blanket or soft toy.
- Don’t drag the kids around doing things they don’t want to do. Museums and temples will be there when they’re old enough to enjoy them.
Most of all, enjoy your holiday.
